Drossinis Museum

Drossinis Museum

The Georgios Drosinis Museum was established in 1997 in Villa Amaryllis in Kifisia, the residence where the poet, journalist, publisher, and man of letters Georgios Drosinis spent the last thirteen years of his life.

The museum is dedicated to his life, work, and multifaceted contribution to Greek literature, education, and culture.

The museum’s exhibits include personal belongings, heirlooms, photographs, handwritten manuscripts, and rare editions of his works. It also presents studies and archival material that highlight his important contribution to literature, folklore, and the intellectual life of Greece. The collection brings together his entire poetic, prose, and folkloric output, as well as historical documents from his era.

Of particular interest is the rich folkloric material inspired by the heroes and heroines of his literary works, along with testimonies from people who lived and worked close to him. Through its exhibits, visitors gain insight not only into Drosinis as a writer but also as a socially sensitive individual deeply devoted to Greece.

The museum operates under the care of the Association “Friends of the G. Drosinis Museum,” which works in cooperation with the Municipality of Kifisia to enrich the collections and support the museum’s activities. Educational tours are regularly organized for students, associations, and visitors, along with literary competitions that help preserve and promote the enduring legacy of Georgios Drosinis.
