Varvayannis Ouzo Museum
The Varvayannis Ouzo Museum in Plomari, Lesvos, is dedicated to the history and tradition of the Barbayannis family distillery, which has over 160 years of experience in ouzo production.
Inside the museum, visitors can discover the traditional process of ouzo making through historic bottling tools, old production equipment, and the first distillation cauldron used by the family in the 19th century. The exhibition also presents the evolution of production techniques and the long-standing quality of the Varvayannis ouzo.
The museum combines tradition with modern technology, offering audiovisual presentations and guided tours, while also serving as a cultural point of reference for Plomari and the heritage of ouzo production in the region.
