Folklore Museum of the Lyceum of Hellenic Women Naoussa

The collection of the Folklore Museum of the Lyceum of Greek Women of Naousa began immediately after the establishment of the Lyceum of Greek Women of Naousa, with the aim of preserving and highlighting the local cultural heritage and creating a dedicated folklore museum.

Until 2001, members of the administration of the Lyceum of Greek Women of Naousa collected a significant number of ethnographic and folkloric objects, contributing substantially to the preservation of aspects of everyday life, customs, and traditions of the Naousa region. The collection was housed in a small museum at the entrance of the town, which attracted many visitors and was maintained through the care of the Board members and the support of the Municipality of Naousa.

In 2001, following a proposal by the Mayor, the collection was transferred to the newly established Historical and Folklore Museum of the Municipality of Naousa, where it now forms the core of its exhibits. Members of the Board of the Lyceum of Greek Women of Naousa continue to participate in the administration of the museum, ensuring the continuation of its original mission of cultural preservation and documentation.
