Visitable Museum Store in Makrygialos
The museum houses archaeological finds originating from research conducted in the northern part of the Pieria regional unit, offering a comprehensive view of the area’s historical and cultural development.
The exhibition features mainly commercial amphorae from the ancient cities of Pydna and Methone, as well as pottery dating from the Iron Age through to the Hellenistic period. These artifacts highlight the region’s importance as a commercial and cultural hub in antiquity.
On the ground floor, visitors have the opportunity to learn about the processes of conservation, storage, and display of archaeological finds, gaining a fuller understanding of the work carried out behind museum exhibitions.
